Rationing programs and moderation management is not quite accurate complete abstinence. While alcohol addicts are unable to restrict their consumption of alcohol in this manner, few come back to moderate intake. In 2002, United States study by the National Institute on Alcohol addiction and Alcoholism (NIAAA) revealed that 17.7 % of people diagnosed as alcohol addicts more than 1 year prior come back to low-risk intake of alcohol . This group can reveal some early symptoms of addiction. In a follow-up study on the same subject used to improve in 2001-2002 , identified the return rate for an alcohol addicts in 2004-2005. The study showed withdrawal from alcohol,it was the most constant type of remission for recovering alcohol addicts. In the long term follow up more than (60 years) in  two groups of alcohol addicts  found that a return to controlled intake of alcohol ,in rare lasted more than a year without recurrence or development into withdrawal.
